If English is not your native language, you may be required to complete an exam called the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
We strongly advise you check your status on this with the NMBI before you begin your nursing registration to work in Ireland.
If you are a Group 3 overseas nurse applying to work as a nurse in Ireland, and if English is not your first or primary language, you will need to demonstrate that you can speak English to a high standard required to be successful in your employment.
