Theatre Nurse Jobs: What is the Healthcare Management Trust?
The Healthcare Management Trust was founded in 1985 as a registered charity to provide consultancy services to healthcare providers founded by religious groups. Their aim has always been to develop and promote the services offered by associated charitable hospitals and care homes so that they can be a viable alternative to the commercial companies both now and into the future.
They own and operate two hospitals: HMT St Hugh’s in Grimsby and HMT Sancta Maria in Swansea. They lease operate two care homes: Coloma Court in West Wickham (owned by the Daughters of Mary and Joseph) and Marie Louise House in Romsey (owned by the Daughters of Wisdom). Their hospitals are consistently ranked amongst the highest performing healthcare facilities in the United Kingdom. They fund health related research, scholarship projects and other areas of related grant-making and are actively engaged in the promotion of health, wellbeing and exercise at both a national and local community level.
HMT is working in partnership with national charities and universities to fund a growing programme of research projects, with a focus currently on dementia diagnosis, treatment and care. Promoting health is part of their long term approach to improve the quality of life within the communities they serve. Through youth coaching, community sporting events, educational seminars and strategic alliances with community organisations we aim to make health and active living a fun and enjoyable part of everyday life
